The Vegetable Plot

Created by Luke Escombe, The Vegetable Plot is a band on a mission of Love and Peas. As big fans for many years, we’re collaborating with Luke and Veg Plot Productions and the team behind award-winning shows ‘Motown Madness’ and ‘Beat Bugs’ to develop this musical project into an animated series.

Ours was one of only two Australian projects selected to the 2022 Asian Animation Summit – with support from Screen QLD.

Chasing the Magic Purple Line: The story of Madame Lash

Synopsis:
Join Madame Lash – Australia’s infamous dominatrix – as she begins the last chapter of her decades-long quest to capture Leonardo’s Magic Purple Line as revealed to her on an acid trip.

Through candid observation, intimate home-movies, evocative reconstructions and insightful interviews, we explore Gretel’s past and contemplate her legacy.

With unrestricted access to her mansion in Palm Beach, Australia’s most exclusive suburb – complete with an X-rated basement and an ‘anything can happen’ room, the film offers a first-hand, behind-the-scenes look into the life, work, and misadventures of Madame Lash.

Logline:
After the sudden death of his local GP leaves Alonso without the medication for his paranoid schizophrenia, he embarks on a delusional quest across Queensland to rescue his platonic love, Candy, who he believes has been kidnapped.

Alongside his gullible companion Pancho, Alonso’s journey becomes a chaotic and darkly humorous odyssey through Far North Queensland, as his distorted reality brings imaginary enemies and monsters to life.
Their misadventures culminate in a dramatic confrontation with reality, forcing them to face the consequences of their delusions.

Darwin Amongst The Machines

In the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, an English philosopher now settled in Far North Queensland becomes consumed by a growing paranoia that machines are evolving beyond human control, sparking a desperate correspondence with Charles Darwin as his fears spiral into dangerous obsession.

‘Darwin among the Machines’ is an article published in The Press newspaper on 13 June 1863 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Written by Samuel Butler, the article raises for the first time the possibility of ‘intelligent machines’, a kind of ‘mechanical life’ undergoing constant evolution, which eventually might supplant humans as the dominant species.

Voyage for Change: The Legacy of Rainbow Warrior II” is a riveting one-hour documentary commemorating the 30th anniversary of a landmark event in environmental activism. The documentary centres on David Enever, the then captain of the Rainbow Warrior II, whose bold actions at Mururoa Atoll in July 1995 catalysed the cessation of French nuclear testing in the Pacific less than six months later.
